COLUMBIA, MARYLAND — January 11, 2012 – Message Systems, the industry leader in messaging technology solutions, announced today it has appointed Ralph Lentz as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Ralph brings a wealth of experience to the role, from his long tenure at technology industry giant Computer Associates where he was VP of sales, to experience as a senior executive with firms including Macrovision, Human Concepts and BroadVision. In this new role Mr. Lentz is charged with leading the long-term sales and marketing direction for the company.
Reporting directly to Message Systems CEO George Schlossnagle, Mr. Lentz will be the senior executive in charge of domestic sales, international sales and global marketing. Unifying sales and marketing under Ralph's leadership will enable Message Systems to benefit from tighter alignment between the sales, business development and marketing teams, and ensure that all outward facing and revenue-generating team members are on point with shared objectives and brand messaging. After a highly successful 2011, this hire positions Message Systems to continue its strong growth in 2012.

Mr. Lentz spent much of his early career at Computer Associates where as a sales executive he guided the launch of the company's BizWorks middleware product, and landed early enterprise clients, including brands such as Home Depot and Ingersoll-Rand, and struck partnerships with system integrators including IBM. As VP Worldwide Sales at Macrovision in the mid-2000s, Ralph managed the sales, presales and channels functions for the software group, growing revenues up to $110M from 2002 to 2005. As Chief Operating Officer at HumanConcepts, a privately held company in the human capital management (HCM) space, Ralph managed worldwide sales, marketing, business development, services and support, increasing sales from $10M to $15M. Most recently, Ralph was GM Americas at BroadVision, a publicly held firm in the enterprise social networking (ESN) space, where he transitioned the company to a SaaS/cloud model, created a go-to-market strategy for a new enterprise social media solution, and closed deals with early customers. Ralph is based in Message Systems' San Francisco office.
