Senior IT Administrator
This position will be responsible for administering and managing the office network, including desktop support, network support and internal business critical systems. You will be responsible for assisting the existing Unix Administration team, supporting internal infrastructure and roughly 120 local and remote end-users.
Responsibilities
- Install and support Windows, Mac and Linux end-user systems and common applications.
- Set up local and remote printers.
- Provision users and troubleshoot issues on OpenLDAP, Asterisk phone system, Instant Messaging, Subversion, Email and other systems.
- Provide systems administration for Linux and Windows internal server systems.
- Administrate local office network and core networking equipment for remote office networks.
- Provide administration for Microsoft Dynamics and MS-SQL.
- Work with management to develop appropriate policies and procedures for optimizing internal IT time and effort usage.
- Administer network routers, firewalls and switches.
- Administer server room; responsibilities include racking servers and telecom equipment and configuring network switch ports.
- Demonstrate a knowledge of DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP.
- Demonstrate a knowledge of VMWare ESX and ESXi implementations.
- Provide 24 x 7 support for critical systems.
- Spec and purchase all computer hardware, software and other technical equipment.
- Manage asset inventory for all computer hardware and software.
Skills Required
- 2-3 years professionally supporting Linux, OpenBSD and Solaris
- 2-3 years professionally supporting Windows systems (desktop and server)
- Experience supporting Mac OS X desirable
- Experience and knowledge supporting MS-SQL
- Experience and knowledge supporting office networking
- Experience supporting Asterisk desirable
- Experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics desirable
- Ability to multitask essential
- Ability to use independent judgment to troubleshoot problems, assess critically and apply solutions consistent with policy and procedure
- Excellent communication skills and customer relation skills a must
- Must be excited to and self-motivated to pick up new skills and take on new responsibilities
- Occasional travel within the U.S. may be necessary (less than 10%)
