Project Manager / Business Analyst

We are seeking an outstanding Project Manager/Business Analyst to work with our key customers and manage projects related to our digital messaging platform. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work closely with some our largest customers. The roles and responsibilities of this position will include day-to-day engagement with our customers, project management around design and deployment of messaging solutions, the ongoing support and remote management of these solutions. This individual will work collaboratively with Account Management, Sales Engineers, Support Engineers, Project Managers and Professional Service staff to make Message Systems’ customers successful, and to further develop the relationships (at a technical level) between our customers and Message Systems to ensure the ongoing success of these relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a large enterprise client engagement over a multi-month period.
  • Provide excellent customer service by successfully delivering results that meet the client's business objectives.
  • Serve as the liaison between Message Systems and the client.
  • Manage communication between internal teams (Support, Engineering, etc.,) and the client.
  • Serve as a "trusted advisor" to the client: make recommendations and provide guidance as needed to help them make the best decisions on technical aspects of their messaging infrastructure.
  • Share the client's requirements and objectives with the internal Product and Engineering teams to provide input into product development.
  • Lead a highly skilled development team comprised of software developers, technical architects and QA resources.
  • Work with client and technical resources to prioritize tasks and develop plan and schedule that takes into account level-of-effort, dependencies and risk.
  • Manage/drive the project schedule and report to Message Systems executive team.
  • Take ownership and responsibility of all aspects of the client engagement and ensure that issues are addressed effectively and quickly.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle with ownership of requirements definition, high-level design, testing and deployment.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with the client team.
  • Write detailed requirements documentation.
  • Review and provide input into technical design.
  • Develop testing strategies and participate in testing.
  • Plan and manage deployments.
  • Ability and interest to become fluent in technical aspects of Message Systems products.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional client-facing skills; ability to develop strong client relationships built on trust and transparency.
  • Must be detail oriented and have outstanding analytical skills in order to anticipate, diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Desire to learn and participate "hands on" in all phases of software development.
  • Good working knowledge of relational databases and comfortable writing SQL.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, like Perl, C, PHP, Lua.
  • Experience with Linux a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Project Manager of full life-cycle application development.
  • Project management experience at a large consulting firm preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in an IT-related field or relevant experience.
