Client Solution Engineer

Message Systems is a worldwide provider of message management solutions and services. We are seeking an outstanding Solutions Engineer to lead customer implementations of our digital messaging platform. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure to ensure requirements have been sufficiently gathered (build the right thing) and that the project team is focused in the architecture and design of proposed solutions (build it right); provide oversight in the development and release to production of those solutions (go-live). This individual will work collaboratively with Sales Engineers, Solutions Engineers, Solutions Architects, Quality Assurance/Test Engineers, Project Managers and Product Managers to make Message Systems' customers realize their business value.

Responsibilities

• Provide solid design recommendations for proposed solutions that integrate with a customer's sources/stores/backend systems of data, how the solution connects and moves that data, how to report on it.
• Provide leadership in the database architecture/design and establish guidelines with developer's on database access standards and best practices to ensure scalability and fast query performance.
• Implement, build-out/develop, and test these design recommendations.
• Create data manipulation middleware for database deployment and automation activities.
• Tune PostgreSQL configuration files to take full advantage of more powerful hardware, updating our hardware sizing guidelines; profile and tune for performance and scalability.
• Become fluent in all technical aspects of Message Systems products.
• Travel approximately 25% in support of customer training needs.

Qualifications

• 4 years of recent development experience with C, PHP or Perl.
• 4 years working in a Linux and/or Unix environment.
• 4 years working with SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or related database language skills.
• Strong proficiency with data manipulation, data aggregation, data processing.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time.
• Email service provider (ESP); digital marketing; and/or digital messaging platform implementation (MTA, SMS, MMS, XMPP) experience is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal and team building skills.

This position is full-time in the United Kingdom.
